This overview provides Atlas Canada agents and customers with guidance on items that cannot be transported due to safety, legal, or regulatory reasons.
Everyday Non-Admissible Items: Cannot be shipped on the moving van and includes:
Aerosol cans, alcohol, ammunition/firearms, antifreeze, batteries, charcoal, cigarette lighters, cleaners with bleach or ammonia, fertilizers, fire extinguishers, gasoline/kerosene/oil, lighter fluid, matches/fireworks, paints, perfumes/cologne*, polishes/nail polishes, pool chemicals, propane tanks, shellac/varnishes/stains, and similar products.
Note: Toiletries like perfumes/colognes may be shipped at the mover’s discretion if securely packed to prevent leakage.
Dangerous Goods (Prohibited by Law under the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act):
Dispose of restricted items before packing or loading.
Movers may refuse any item that poses a risk to the vehicle, contents, or personnel.
Liability may fall on the customer if prohibited items are included and cause damage.
