Internal Standard Operating Procedure for WCC and Lift Vans

Purpose:
To ensure consistent, efficient selection and setup of shipments assigned to WCC containers or Lift Vans, while maintaining clear communication, accurate setup in Atlas Net, and proper authorization of labour and hauling costs.

Essential Setup & Selection:

WCC Shipments to be registered as Container Moves under 87-02 OR using the 522 04 WCC Tariff
-
Tariffs 87-04 / 87-05 may be used if the WCC Calculator confirms sufficient funds for OA/DA labour and hauling.

Atlas Operations may assign WCC shipments as needed.

Lift Vans are used as required (overflows, driver capacity issues, small shipments) and may be sold under Tariff 85-2104.

Notify OA & DA by email for all WCC/Lift Van assignments and copy correspondence into Notes (include Connect).

Atlas Net & Container Procedures:

Use Capacity Management to confirm WCC availability.

Enter 8008 as Hauler for main haul legs.

Complete Container Info (WC300, 90×60×94, Gross = Est. – 700 lbs tare, Container ID).

Use “Ready to Go” once loaded.

Until containerized function is active, add cross-docks (G-11 / Set Off-Re-Del) as Non-Paid.

Update HDQ Monitoring Party by leg (CNTR, CNTRD, CNTRT, CNTRP).

Authorizations & Rates:

Enter flat-rate OA & DA labour authorizations and ensure Admin Fee ($200) is added under Third Party Hauling (8008).

Enter carrier authorizations based on whether hauling is booked by Atlas Ops or the agent.

Complete manifesting within 2 business days of delivery.

Communication & Tracking:

Add containerized shipments to the Ops/Connect WCC spreadsheet (pink).

Coordinate closely with Connect on carrier booking, ETAs, tracking, and cost allocation.

Consolidate multiple WCC/Lift Van shipments when possible to maximize FTL efficiency.

Destination Handling:

Clients have 5 business days to accept delivery.

Afterward, storage charges of $50 per container per week apply and are payable to the DA.
