Purpose:
To provide clear guidance on when and how Alternative Hauling solutions (WCC300s, Lift Vans, Pool Trailers, and 3rd Party Conveyance) are used to ensure service continuity, cost control, and compliance when Platinum Hauling or Pool Trailers are unavailable or not viable.

Program Overview & Eligibility:

Alternative Hauling is used when Platinum Hauling units or Pool Trailers are unavailable or unsuitable.

Shipments may be designated for WCC, Lift Van, Pool Trailer, or 3rd Party conveyance.

Atlas Operations manages planning and servicing of these orders.
-
Pool Trailers are treated equally with Platinum PVOs and operate PQ–BC only.

WCC300s move between participant offices (including cross-border); intermodal and spot pricing may apply.

Maritimes shipments are serviced by 3rd party trailers, with limited Platinum exceptions.

Loading & Unloading – Pool & 3rd Party Trailers:

Third-party drivers are no-touch.

Origin and Destination Agents power trailers, supply crews, manage loading/unloading, scaling, photos, and documentation.

Alternative Hauling Control Sheet is mandatory at origin and destination.
-
Photos, scale tickets, and paperwork must be scanned within required timelines.

COD and Government delivery approvals must be handled prior to delivery.

Lift Vans & WCC Shipments:
-
SimpliCity policies apply (with noted exceptions).
-
Photos of prepared shipments are required at origin and destination.

Original paperwork must be sealed with the shipment; scale tickets sent directly to Atlas.

Delivery approvals, COD collection, BINGO sheets, and document scanning are mandatory.

Selection, Atlas Net & Authorizations:

WCC shipments registered under 87-02; Lift Vans may be sold under 85-2104.

Capacity Management is used to confirm container availability.

Container details (WC300, dimensions, weights, ID) must be completed in Atlas Net.

Flat-rate OA/DA labour authorizations apply; spot pricing for 4+ containers.

Admin Fee ($200) must be added under Third Party Hauling (8008).

Manifesting must be completed within 2 business days after delivery.

Communication & Oversight:

OA and DA must be notified by email for all WCC/Lift Van assignments (include Connect; copy to Notes).

Containerized shipments must be tracked on the Ops/Connect WCC spreadsheet.

Connect manages carrier booking, ETAs, tracking, and cost allocation.
