Purpose:
To provide clear guidelines for preparing, disassembling, and identifying household items for relocation, while outlining items that are inadmissible for transport to ensure safety, compliance, and efficient handling.

Contents:

  • Special Item Preparations:

    • Pianos: Shipper must prepare all mechanical components; move to accessible area if needed.

    • Batteries: All batteries must be removed from household items.

    • Hot Tubs & Waterbeds: Must be drained; hot tubs brought to curbside for loading.

    • Outdoor Equipment/Furniture: Must be disassembled and cleaned prior to loading, including:

      • Steel sheds/cabinets (≤12 ft x 12 ft x 8 ft)

      • Swing sets, slides, trampolines, sky rides, satellite dishes

      • Garden/patio furniture, hot tubs/spas, boats, jet skis, sea-doos

      • Outdoor articles embedded in the ground or secured to buildings must be detached or removed.

      • Watercraft must be braced and secured (e.g., crating, stands, trailers).

  • Inadmissible Items:

    • Ammunition & firearms

    • Business-related materials on premises (large quantities of inventory or equipment)

    • Items needing climate control (perishables, houseplants)

    • Livestock and pets

    • Aircraft, ultralights, microlights, and parts

    • Farm/construction equipment beyond house maintenance needs

    • Fixed outdoor BBQs, patio stones, concrete statues

    • Trailers >12 ft x 8 ft x 3 ft, building materials >500 lbs

    • Outdoor fences or animal enclosures (excluding travel crates)

    • Wooden portable buildings (sheds, gazebos, dog houses)

    • Firewood

    • Personal watercraft & boats >12 ft, canoes/kayaks >18 ft

    • Items not at residence prior to pack day

    • Above-ground pools (excluding inflatable/kiddie pools)

    • Saunas >152 cu ft, steel utility cabinets/sheds >12x12x8 ft

    • Cannabis or drug paraphernalia

    • Liquids (paint, sealed jars, alcohol, etc.)
