Purpose:
To ensure Pool Trailers are used efficiently, securely, and compliantly, with clear responsibilities for Origin and Destination Agents, accurate documentation, and coordinated communication with Atlas Operations and Connect Logistics.

Contents:

  • Pool Trailer Program Overview:

    • Pool Trailers are GPS-tracked and must remain fully equipped (pads, straps, bars, walk-boards, plywood).

    • Equipment must remain on the trailer unless Atlas Operations instructs otherwise.

    • Agents supplying Pool Trailers must provide trailer details, photos, ownership, and safety information.

    • Walk-arounds are required upon receipt; report damages or leaks immediately.

  • Assignment, Planning & Security:

    • Atlas Ops assigns shipments and notifies OA/DA via email.

    • Delivery dates are coordinated within TTG; some dates may be unavailable due to routing or consolidation.

    • Trailers should average 20,000–25,000 lbs per trip.

    • When not in use, trailers must be locked and secured (pin-locks and door locks if not gated).

    • Atlas Ops and Connect book and track all Pool Trailer transport.

  • Origin Loading Responsibilities:

    • Third-party carriers are no-touch.

    • Origin agent powers trailer, supplies crew, tags/lists/loads shipment, and loads tightly.

    • Complete and submit Alternative Hauling Control Sheet (penalties apply if not returned).

    • Take and upload required loading photos and shipping documents within 48 hours.

    • Scale as required and secure trailer with seals, recording seal numbers.

    • Notify Atlas Ops of remaining trailer space after loading.

  • Destination Unloading Responsibilities:

    • Third-party carriers remain no-touch.

    • Destination agent powers trailer, schedules delivery, and supplies unloading crew.

    • Verify seals, complete required photos, BINGO sheets, and delivery paperwork.

    • Reweigh if required and ensure COD or government delivery approvals are complete.

    • Clean trailer and return all equipment per the Control Sheet.

  • Compliance & Accountability:

    • Control Sheets are mandatory at both origin and destination.

    • Poor loading or wasted space may result in chargebacks to the loading agent.

    • Blown estimates are treated the same as over-the-road driver shipments.

Key Takeaway:
Successful Pool Trailer moves depend on tight loading, strict documentation, secured equipment, and proactive coordination with Atlas Operations and Connect—ensuring efficiency, accountability, and compliance from origin to destination.
